Tralala Tralala. After a nail-biting Champions League Final, everything now comes to a rest. The entire match was fantastic. Seriously.
Blazing performances from both teams but Ronny stepped up and scored first much to the surprise of Michael Essien who imo, shares an uncanny resemblance to Will.I.Am.
To be fair to both teams, the pitch was far from cup-final perfection. Pretty much what caused Van der Sar to slip and let in Lampard's equaliser just before half time.
Throughout the match, I wasn't really worried since we had the old stalwart Scholesy to the fore. With tough dogs like these, who continues to fight on despite nursing a severe nose bleed, what's there to fear?
Of course, at the end of 90 minutes, with the score as stale as week old croissant, emotions started running high. In the second extra 15 minutes, Drogba suddenly took a liking to Vidic's clean shaven face and decided to give it a nice slap. Referee Lubos Michel felt left out from the action building up to Drogba's slap (which was actually a shouting match between Tevez and John Terry) and decided to chip in himself.
It was really really really painful when Ronny, who as usual did his 'hesitant' spot kick only to have the dazzling orange monster Petr Cech save his shot. Nail biting moment I tell you.
And this fella's like the Blues version of Scholesy. Real tough dog he is. Seriously respect John Terry. Without him, Chelsea wouldn't be what it is now. Sad thing for him and Chelsea fans round the world, he squandered his spot kick although Van der Sar was nowhere near saving it. And then both teams were equal. Thank God Hargreaves put his in.
As the orange monster saved a shot, so did the green giant from Man U after sizing up himself to Nicolas Anelka effectively winning the trophy for Man U. It took awhile for me to register than Man U won it after the ball went flying somewhere else. It came as a shock really until the commentators announced Man U as champs. He's a really big Dutchman Van der Sar, hero of Man U's Champions League campaign. I really must hunt for VDS's jersey.
Nothing but a fitting celebration after a season-long amount of hard work and determination.
The best team won? Hardcore Blues fans would say that the luckier team won. I can't deny that really. When it comes to penalties, it's all luck. But throughout the entire match, both teams were actually were quite equal, each having their own squandered chances like Tevez's double missed chance and Carrick's straight shot. Drogba had one off VDS's post and so did Lampard.
At least the referee didn't make any dubious decisions, choosing not to award any penalties to both teams despite their countless cries.
Thus ends the 2007/2008 football season. Man U, double winners leaving other English clubs not very far behind this time. Win the EPL next season and we'll match Liverpool's record of 18 of which most were won during Liverpool's glory days. Rafa who?
One thing I did notice during last night / this morning's game was that these two heroes do look alike somewhat.

Same high forehead. Same sharp nose. Only that Cech looks more full while VDS looks slightly gaunt. But still, both excellent goalkeepers.
